GreeceMonkey is to launch 340 NEW domain based Video Content Channels for 2008. Many new video content sites now exist, including MYSPACETV, YouTube, Yahoo, Metacafe, Google and Brightcove and many more are on the way. GreeceMonkey recognises the need to centralise videos into a database to assist the Greek tourism industry in a structured and professional manner. This will include liaising with and assisting in the requirements of the terrestrial TV media to ensure Greece is represented in a responsible manner.

GreeceMonkey now has agreements with 27 video content providers, with content ranging from educational documentaries on such subjects as the acropolis, ancient  Rhodes, and the Greek Gods, to the mad party holidays offer in Crete, Rhodes and Cyprus. We have over 10,000 videos and counting.

We also will be hosting our very own Video recorded in HD - TV quality. With 100's of hours spent testing  our own hosting we guarantee you will not have seen quality like it anywhere on the internet before.

Tour Operators making videos of their accommodation, video phones readily available, video camera in every suitcase, virtual video tours shown by local excursing shops. So much quality content in so many places - now is the time to centralize.

GreeceMonkey has 340 domains including Malia, Stalis, Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, Hersonissos, and Faliraki with many different TLD (top level domains) including .co.uk, .com, .eu, .net and .gr. Each of these domains will be available with a sub domain of tv - example this domain is tv.malia.co.uk - tv.stalis.co.uk - tv.hersonissos.co.uk - tv.kavos.eu - tv.go2fakiraki.co.uk - tv.go2laganas.co.uk - tv.go2kardamena.co.uk. GreeceMonkey TV will provide Hersonissos Videos, Kavos Videos, Stalis Videos, Malia Videos in 2008.

The key browser benefit to GreeceMonkey TV, will be that videos will be labelled and available in many different categories - traditional, accommodation, people, nightlife, watersports, boat trips and these category will exist for all of our 3500 resorts and 75 island websites. All of these videos will be accessible via tv.greecemonkey.eu.

With many other website now offering video in Greece, such as go2crete.eu, travel-to-crete.com, www.creteonthe.net, maliatv, hersonissostv and yet it is impossible to find all the quality video content in one place. GreeceMonkey TV will give the ability for each and every business regardless of island, resort or location, its own web TV channel.

For example if we have a hotel called "hotelA" in Stalis, Crete, then the website standard Google indexed website will be www.stalis.co.uk/hotelA, with the video channel being found at tv.stalis.co.uk/hotelA. This will be the same across all of our 340 island and resort domains.

We also have 100's of domains we run on behalf of business such as the the White Lion in Hersonissos. This website is the www.whitelion.gr and the tv channel will be tv.whitelion.gr (starts May 2008). Each TV channel website will be administered by either the business owner of a GreeceMonkey moderator and administrator. 

If a business runs it own website under its own administration, then we can still operate and run a video channel for that business with a number of options available.

If a video is submitted to GreeceMonkey TV, then the video will automatically (we permission) resubmitted to the other major video hosting companies with a link back to GreeceMonkey TV.

We already have over 500 videos to launch the service from many providers including Google and Yahoo. It is our believe that our close working relationship with both Google and Yahoo, will be able to promote video content at the highest position possible in the search engines.

This service will be made available to all the 20 million visiting browsers and the 23,000 members of the GreeceMonkey database.

The planned launch of this service is 1st May 2008.
